Cedarwood Veterinary Practice
Reception
Our open plan reception has been designed to be welcoming and to assist those of our clients with access or mobility difficulties. The reception is staffed throughout our opening hours. Our receptionists can help you to arrange appointments, to purchase flea and worming treatments, or to pick up prescriptions. We also stock premium dog and cat diets. Our nurses can advise you on the best choice for your pet.
Waiting room
The waiting room, is situated directly next to the reception desk, it is bright and airy and is air conditioned for those rare summer days we all remember fondly from our youth! We also have a selection of pet care essentials such as collars, leads and brushes.

Consulting rooms
Our consulting rooms are situated in the centre of the building. This gives greater privacy for consultations thanks to their sound-proofing, giving ready access through to our dog and cat wards. By having no windows, we have minimised distractions and have also removed the temptation of potential escape by our feline friends. All of our consulting rooms are air conditioned and have fresh air circulation systems fitted.

Veterinary Nurses
Our Nurses are fully qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses . They assist with anaesthetic monitoring during operations and will take care of your pet before, during and after surgery. In addition, we offer our clients nurse consultations on matters such as dental hygiene, nutrition and weight reduction programmes
Vets Our vets offer consultations for your pets during our surgeries by appointment and perform necessary operations on the premises. We also offer an emergency 24hour Emergency service.

In-house laboratory
The in-house laboratory allows rapid turn-around of all routine blood tests, along with blood gas and electrolyte analysis. The ability to process and analysis these samples usually within an hour gives us the edge when dealing with critical cases... an edge which could be life saving!

Modern Wards
We have the most modern kennels available and have separate cat and dog wards, as not all dogs and cats enjoy being mixed! The kennels are also sound-proofed for the benefit of patients, staff and indeed our neighbours.

Spacious prep room
Our spacious Prep. room has been fitted out to the same high standards as the sterile operating theatres, with hygiene foremost in mind. The room is designed for maximum efficiency, which helps reduce the time each animal is under anaesthetic... obviously, this is very beneficial for the patients undergoing surgery and improves post-op. recovery. Your pets are prepared for their operations here before being transferred to theatre for surgery.

X-ray suite
We have a state-of-the art digital x-ray suite. This allows us to vary exposure, contrast, and brightness and to zoom in on certain parts of the image to maximise the usefulness of a single image. Not only does this save time, but it reduces radiation exposure to staff & patients alike. It is also in keeping with our ethos to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

Dentistry
Our fully equipped dentistry department gives us the capability to deal with routine, preventive and emergency dental cases. We feel it important to have such a high quality system as the area of oral hygiene in pets is often overlooked and can be a source of chronic ill health in your pet. We advise six monthly dental check ups for your pet.

Operating theatres
We have sterile operating theatres, where all our surgical procedures are carried out. The theatres have been designed to maximise the use of available light to give a bright and airy working environment. The walls are lined with a very high grade impervious covering to allow thorough cleansing and disinfection between uses. All designated theatre staff wear special theatre clothing and access to theatre is restricted to maintain a sterile environment.
